Food culture has a long history. On November 30, School of International Education held the 5th International Food Culture Festival. Students from all over the world gathered in Jiangsu Food and Pharmaceutical Science College to taste the food from various countries and exchange colorful culture.
The cooking competition began at 2 pm. 23 contestants put on chef hats and aprons, ready to show their talents.
Chinese students and international students compete on the same stage in this competition to make delicious dishes with Chinese characteristics and the characteristics of the international students' own countries.
Everyone made all kinds of delicacies with all their heart, and finally the jury scored and selected seven awards including the Best Culinary Award.
Chen Wei, an international student from Indonesia said, “we make traditional Indonesian food. I want to take more photos for my family to see and share with my family about life in China and hope they can taste Chinese food as well.”
Zhang Yiying, a Chinese student from western food major said, “This is my first time to participate in the Food Culture festival. I am very happy to share the delicious food made by myself with international students, so that they can experience the Chinese food culture.”
This International Food and Culture Festival not only made international students to understand Chinese food culture, but also brought food from all over the world into our vision, enriching the extracurricular life of Chinese and international students in our college, and promoting cultural exchanges between Chinese and international students.
