1. Application for Residence Permit 

International students with X1 visa should apply for residence permit at Exit and Entry Administration Department of Huai’an Public Security Bureau within 30 days. Materials required:

(1) Original and photocopy of valid passport (ordinary passport) and visa;

(2)School official letter and Admission Notice indicating the period of study;

(3)Original Visa Application Form for Study in China（JW202）;

(4)Fill in the Visa and Residence Permit Application Form for Foreigners and paste a recent two-inch frontal bareheaded color photo with a white background;

(5)Temporary accommodation registration certificate;

(6)Original copy of Verification Certificate of Physical Examination Records for Overseas Persons issued by Jiangsu International Travel Health Care Center;

(7)School organization code certificate.

2.Supplementary Application of Residence permit

International students holding new passport to apply for a replacement residence permit must provide the following materials in addition to the above-mentioned required materials:

(1) Those who receive a new passport due to a lost passport must provide the passport loss report issued by the Exit and Entry Administration Department of the Public Security Organ or a note from the Foreign Embassy or Consulate in China;

(2) Those who obtain a new passport because the passport is about to expire or the visa pages are used up, etc., must provide the passport held at the time of entry.

3. Precautions

(1) International students who hold a residence permit can stay in China within the validity period of the detention permit, and can also enter and exit China multiple times.

(2) International students who need to continue to stay or stay in Huai'an after the expiration of the visa or residence permit must apply for an extension to the Exit-Entry Administration of Huai'an Public Security Bureau before the expiration.

(3) If there is any change in the address or the school,etc. of the international students, they must apply to the Huai'an Public Security Bureau for the change of residence permit within 10 days.

(4) Those who apply for a residence permit must pay the fee in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Exit-Entry Administration of Huai'an Public Security Bureau.

(5) International students holding the reason of residence for study can engage in work-study activities in accordance with the Administrative Measures for International Students Work-Study in Colleges and Universities, and are not allowed to engage in other positions or employment in China.

(6) For foreigners or responsible persons who illegally reside (stay) in China or commit other illegal acts, the public security organs will punish them according to law.

(7) The Exit and Entry Administration Department of the Public Security Organ has the right to refuse to issue visas and certificates to foreigners in accordance with the law, and has the right to revoke or declare invalid visas and certificates that have already been issued.
