School of Food Science is a secondary school within Jiangsu Food and Pharmaceutical Science College. There are six majors in Food Processing Technology, Food and Drug Supervision and Management, Food Nutrition and Testing, Food Storage and Marketing, Food Biotechnology and Food Quality and Safety. Among them, the Food Processing Technology major was listed as a key construction major in provincial demonstration higher vocational colleges by the Provincial Department of Education in 2008. In 2010, it was listed as a key construction major in National Backbone Higher Vocational Colleges. In 2015, it was listed as a Brand Professional Construction Project of Jiangsu universities. The teaching and scientific research achievements Innovation and practice of talent training model for food processing and nutrition professionals won the second prize of Jiangsu Higher Education (Vocational Education) Teaching Achievement Award in 2013. In 2014, Around the food industry chain, strengthen the characteristic accumulation and practical innovation of the advantageous professional group won the second prize of the Teaching Achievement Award of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.

School of Food Science actively explores and deeply practices the talent training model of Multi-integration, Integration of Learning and Doing. There are 9 training bases in the school including Bakery Food Training Center, Fermentation and Functional Food Training Center, Dehydrated Dry Food Training Center, Beverage and Canned Food Training Center, Agricultural Products Processing and Frozen Food Training Center, Puffing and Candy Chocolate Food Training Center. It has established close production relationships with Jiangsu Shuanghui Food Co., Ltd., Mengniu Group, Nanjing Yurun Group, Mondelez (Suzhou) Food Co., Ltd., Xizhilang Food Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Daxilai Food Co., Ltd., Huaian Kuailu Dairy Co., Ltd., etc. School of Food Science cooperate closely with enterprises in running schools, educating people, employment, and development.
