As the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, School of International Education organizes international students to make mooncakes to feel the atmosphere of the festival in advance.
Filling, kneading dough, molding... International students from Zambia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and other countries made it in a decent way under the guidance of teachers. Bo long from Uzbekistan makes moon cakes for the first time, so he is full of curiosity and expectation. He said, making moon cakes looks like easy, however it requires a lot of skills, it feels great to taste mooncakes made by myself. Some international students work in division of labor, although they have encountered some problems in the process, they have been successfully completed after repeated exercises.
The teacher uniformly push the baking tray full of moon cakes into the oven. During the waiting period, Xia Lin, an international student from Indonesia, told everyone, “there is no Mid-Autumn Festival in my country, but we also have festivals with family and friends. Although the festival is different, we experience the same feelings.”
Soon, the golden mooncakes were released, and international students couldn't wait to pack homemade moon cakes. Nadia from Tunis said happily“I want to take photos and share them with my parents!”
This activity made international students feel Chinese festival atmosphere, helped them understand Chinese traditional culture and customs, and make them feel warm in Jiangsu Food and Pharmaceutical Science College.
